How Do I Take a Picture of the Moon?

I’ve always wanted to take a decent photo of the moon. Before I got into dSLR photography, it was nearly impossible since all I had were point-and-shoot cameras. With dSLR, you have a MUCH better chance of getting a quality photo. AND the moon was out the other night, so…

tada!

Sure, it won’t win any awards. I still like it. I used my Canon 5DmkII with my 70 – 200 f/2.8 IS L lens handheld. Looking back, I probably should have used my tripod and mirror lock-up. I think a longer lens might help too.
